I forgot to give you the verse in purport.

But I will speak on the essence of the verse in purport today.

Can read it on your own to get tuned in to what I'm speaking about today.

Papa is emphasizing not to overindulge in eating.

Sometimes when we tell people, the doctors, well, they say you have to eat sleep at least hours a day, we kind of chuckle, 8 hours a day.

So I know it is considered very good to take 8 hours, get up late in the day after the sunrise, just in time to have some coffee and scrambled eggs and get out in the shopping chimp.

But we don't live that kind of a lifestyle.

We like to ride as early as 4am to attend Mangala Arati.

Actually sometimes if you eat too little you become skinny, which is not good for preaching.

Don't look like a skinny rail, you know, but don't look like a skeleton when you go out for preaching and go, by God, these Hare Krishnas aren't just skeletons, I'm not going to get into this.

You should look nice, not skinny, like a skeleton.

You don't have to look like a skinny skeleton.

He went to the doctor's office the other day, she checked my weight, the secretary checked my weight, and I was a little unhappy, I gained, how many pounds I gained?

I gained 3 pounds, a little bit unhappy, oh my God, what's happening to me?

And I said, I'm like a butterball, the lady was herself a butterball.

I was doing the way I was doing when I was sitting there.

She couldn't say a word, but she was thinking, oh my God.

So I gained 3 pounds, and I wasn't very happy about that.

If I can lose weight, I feel good when I see it.

I get worried, you know, oh my God, don't want to gain me.

So the idea is not to become overly austere, not overeating or not under-eating.

Even the Bible says it's sweet every now and then.

Not that we take sweets here, sweets there, sweets, sweets, sweets.

Keep taking sweets every chance we get now.

But it's sweet every now and then, that's okay.

So, this Peshadam is a very important thing.

I know for 3 years I was very blessed to do the Peshadam distribution program in Gainesville.

I had come up from Miami to join Amarunda and Gayatri.

They had a little apartment near the campus.

And just the 3 of us, it was really nice.

And her mother used to send, her mother lived in Miami, she used to send mangoes up from Miami, really good mangoes.

Not only is 1 of those sterile, you know, stringy or bad spots, really, really first class mangoes coming in from Miami regularly.

And so 1 day, Amritsar, I wanted to go to the campus, you know, I took some, I think some simply wonderful and harmonious, sat down on the campus in a nice area called the Plaza de America, right in front of the library, in the middle of a very beautiful grassy area in the middle of the campus.

And 1 boy came and I gave him assembly 1 and he came and joined him in devotee.

We cooked a nice lunch and I'd go there every day.

We had the upstairs apartment and we had to get the whole house.

Then we had to buy a whole big building, 2 building complex, a dormitory and a temple room with it.

A temple room, a kitchen, and a prasadam upstairs.

The thing really grew, it was really wonderful, that pasharm distribution.

Even the car broke down, I would take a wheelbarrow and take the lunch out to the campus.

And my Amaranda was a very powerful preacher.

He was a big leader on the campus also before he became a devotee.

In the Mahavadis, the Mahavadis would come and smash.

It shows me sitting there, Amaranda is preaching, and I'm sitting in the background, relishing his sound preaching.

And then it was a whole thing, the new era and ISKCON, book distribution.

Get every available devotee out on book distribution.

So I remember I asked Prabhupada, well, what about this Prashada distribution program?

You think that Sankarsha has to be sent on book distribution also.

And the problem was if you keep paying in prasadam, you become a devotee.

Everybody else, all the other Brahmacharis, on book distribution I was on prasadam distribution.

And Then I got a transfer to Atlanta where I got all kinds of special mercy for 3 years of doing that program.

But then because I had been the dedicated...then the whole thing happened.

The campus said...the authorities said, we don't want these Hare Krishna's out here giving us lunch.

We've got to get rid of these Hare Krishnas.

He says, in the camp, he says, no more Pashadam distribution.

So Amaranda remembering Lord Caitanya's Kirtan movement and Akasi says, Amar chanting.

He said, all the devotees are going to the Pashadam.

Now this time I've been sent to Atlanta, so I've been there for him.

But Amar remembering me, he sent pictures of it to me to have me send it to Prabhupada.

Because I was till him, I remember him from my 3 years there.

The police came and they said, you must stop this Bashar al-Nusra.

So they put them in handcuffs and dragged them.

They had to drag them to squad cars, handcuffs.

And all the students said, they said, we're giving you the free lunch and the police are dragging them to the handcuffs in the squad cars.

The kids really got what a kind of authority they are anyway.

And then we took them to court and who won, we won.

And now after 50 years that program is still going on in the campus.

So this Pashadana distribution is a very important thing.

I had another Pashadana pastime out on University Avenue giving out Simpli Varnapuram as an invitation to our temple.

I smiled at the young guy and he said, I'm having fun with this Hare Krishna.

I had a bowl of Simpli Varnabha and he went, Ka-wham!

I knocked out the Simpli Varnabha and he was on the street.

He said, Tanada Pisa Nichina, Kiroda Pisa Ishnina, Amani Na Mandinena, Kirtanisana Vih.

1 should be lower than the straw on the street, offering all respect to others, but expect any respect from himself.

In such a state of mind, 1 can chant the only and only name of the Consonant.

No, there's a fence and 1 can be angry like fire.

So I said, you better get out there and pick up all those sweets right now.

I got like a, I'm killing them if they didn't do them.

And he went out and picked all the sweets, and I helped him before the light turned green.

And the notch cards went out of the sweets, and we got them all picked up in time.

So I had all kinds of amazing pastimes of Vishnu and Vishnu's Darshan.

And Vishnu Jainswami and tomorrow visited the Vajramana party.

And the Vajramana party was famous for packing away a lot of prasadam.

We had the best prasadam in the whole of Iskand.

All the family parties when it comes down to Gainesville, we had the best prasadam in Giesville.

So anyway, I remember Thamma was saying, I'm just a small fry.

So, yeah, amazing, the Bishadam pastime we had.

Of course we had a Bishadam prayer, and it was very nice.

Oh Lord, this material body is a place of ignorance, a lump of ignorance.

The senses are a network of paths leading to death.

Somehow we fall into this ocean of material sense enjoyment and evolve the sense of the tongue as the most voracious and uncontrollable.

It is very difficult to conquer the tongue in this world.

But you Lord Sri Krishna have been so kind to us, you sent us this nice Pashadam, spiritual food, just to help us conquer the tongue.

So now let us take this Pashadam to our full satisfaction.

And glorify your Lordship Shri Sriradha and Krishna.

And in love, call upon the Lord Shri Tanya for Buddha and Nanda.

So in this way, Nanda, you can't be satisfied.

And Nanda, well, I've got to be imitating those Uttar Prasadami, or imitating Maharaj Kavahal Jajan, just eating some roots.

I can't take nice bashadam, all this subjis and puris and pakoras and chutney and sweet rice and cheese cake and ice cream.

And 1 thing you see that you get older naturally, the appetite goes down.

Because I still like the Shauna, but I don't like to pack it away like I used to.

The natural thing is you get older, your appetite goes down.

It's actually a sign of progress not wanting to eat less.

But don't artificially eat less, that's the point.

For your health it's not good and for preaching it's not good.

In that for preaching you have to be healthy anyway.

If you're sick in the bed, how you can preach?

We have to be good, vibrant, healthy so we can preach with great enthusiasm, with gusto, in this way.

Of course, we also, Rupar Goswami has also explained, as I quoted in today's video blog.

Vatsa vegam manasakro devigam, jiva vegam udharu bhaktavegam, itan vegam yo vishahet deva, savam api mam prithivim shishisha.

1 can conquer mind, words, anger, tongue, melding, and genitals, can make disciples all over the world and the Papalas can make the whole world as disciples.

So this sense control, being able to mind is a very important thing.

We actually want to be potent preachers as devotees of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Rupanuga means fathers in the footsteps of Rupanujaswami.

Actually we are automatically Nugas of all the Acharyas and the Ascetic.

1 is the Anugas of one's spiritual master, the followers.

So anyway, the key is by becoming Rupanugas or Prabhupada Nugas, keeping the mind always fixed.

This is the whole point, keep the mind fixed.

Yatau yatau nishchalitayi mannishchalim astaram tatastatayi yad yad tat atmanivyavisham yad yad.

From whatever and wherever the mind wanders due to its flickering and steady nature, it will most certainly withdraw it and bring it back under the control of the self.

In my class, they're looking down at their fingers.

And when it's in the fingernails, they're on the clap.

We don't look at our fingers or mind thinking about this and that.

Our minds are wondering, here, there, everywhere, here, there, everywhere, wondering, wondering, wondering.

Because that thing that's butterfly-pastor, your Like a butterfly, you know.

Of course, that thing that's a butterfly passed by your prophet, you hear that butterfly passed by your prophet?

There's a butterfly flying on the top of the hell of his finger and the butterfly landed on his finger.

Probably hell of his finger, the butterfly was going to land on his finger.

So anyway, we had to be very clever, very intelligent in all our ways of practicing Krishna consciousness.

Devotees sometimes were very, very...you can see how clever they were actually, starting this movement.

It's like a salesman says, for you, no profit.

He's actually, he says, oh, I'm doing you a favor for you, no profit.

And he's actually jacking it up 10 times.

And Bob said, if you can say for you no profit, it's 10 times profit.

You have the pastime in Berry Place with Mr.

Now, they were able to get special zoning.

Before they got the manor, they had a seven-barre place.

And they took all the cause of negotiation to get the zoning.

So he took some government officials to complain that the Kirtan was agitating his mind.

So the devotees very cleverly came, we're going to show you these Kirtans are not disturbance at all.

So they were outside the office and every they opened the door, while the door was shut, they would just mind the kirtan.

When the door opened they would sing it loud.

They were telling the shudderer, the kirtan had no problem, just shut the door, it's not a problem.

So this man got very angry, actually fell over and he got so angry, he left, only defeated, the devotees, and he lost his complements.

The devotees were very upset, And getting permission.

There's so many pastimes and this movement got started.

The giant undies, the giant undies lead to well being tomorrow.

Even the merchants would call him Johnny Ananda.

He was so expert in dealing with everybody.

He's so expert in dealing with people, they remember him, they love him.

That's the kind of dealings we have to have with everybody, very personal things, not the impressionist, you know, it's all 1, merging into Brahman, it's all 1.

No, we're not Mayavadis, we're Vaishnavas.

We see that every person is very special and unique.

The devotees and also the non-devotees, actually they're all devotees.

Every single person out there is a devotee, but they forgot that.

My dear sleeping, so what does Lord Chaitanya say?

Why are you sleeping hanging out in this male and this female and white and black and Indian and American and Russian and Chinese and Ukrainian or whatever.

I'm a tree, I'm a goat, I'm a grasshopper, I'm a mosquito.

You're not a woman or a man or white or black.

Why are you misidentifying with this bag of stool urine and pus and blood?

Mary Packer, you're very nicely packaged in skin.

If I gave you a nice bag full of stool, urine, pus, mucous, and bile and urine, and said here's a nice present, I'll give you this present.

But it's very nicely packaged in the skin.

You've got some nice skin patching in it, and it can look very beautiful.

You get a birthday present, nice wrapping, you know, nice ribbon.

There's a little card on the top, You know, you open up a stool and urine.

It's a bag of stool and urine very nicely packaged.

I'm a male, black is now, we find a female pack is a stool in here so I can hug and embrace it.

I mean, my god, the material energy is so heavy, we're so covered.

Actually the thing is, our foolishness is we wanted to dry separately from Krishna.

We're so stupid, we wanted to try and dry separately from Krishna.

Like the hand, millions of times I give the example, the hand wants to say, why is it I feed the stomach?

All it does is sit there all day and doesn't do anything.

You know, I'm working so hard moving my fingers this way and that way.

Oh yeah, I can squeeze it and all the juice comes out of my fingers.

Why do you squeeze the gum down on your fingers?

I got my curtain all dirty with gloves on.

It's so nice to see all my curtains all dirty with gloves on.

A thousand of bromages and gasses, and now you've got a human life, why don't you become intelligent for a change?

Even if you're a fool in so many 8 million different species, there's a bird, there's an aquatic, a beast, a germ, a worm, a cactus plant out in West Texas in the hot, sweltering heat.

You want to keep identifying with the source of your misery.

There are 7 fold miseries associated with the body.

Diving, birth, death, old age and disease.

These are the 7 miseries associated with your body.

Why do you want to keep hugging onto these 7 miseries?

Someone says, well, I was born in misery.

Oh misery, why don't they go over your miseries?

Take shelter in Lord Shatana and Lord Nityananda.

It's a nice prayer, you know, ha ha prabhu nipchana, prema nanda suki, kripa badokama amivodho duki.

My dear Lord Nityananda, I'm the most depressed miserable person in the 3 worlds.

I feel so hard, I want to keep crying all day, I'm so miserable.

My dear Lord, I see yourself, you're full of bliss, Your eyes are blissful, your mouth, everything about you is emulating pure bliss, my dear Lord Niranjananda.

So please, can you cast your glancing of mercy upon me so I can get out of this depression I'm in?" So we have this nice practice.

Even the most miserable depressed person is going to a psychiatrist.

There's an interesting story in that connection.

1 psychiatrist wanted to meet Prabhupada.

As he was leaving the office, he told his workers, I'm going to meet my psychiatrist.

Psychiatrist said Prabhupada is his psychiatrist.

Psychiatrist means to get your mental health, right?

But the psychiatrist needs Prabhupada to get his mental health.
